Ultrasound photos show a normally developing fetus inside Tonga, an African elephant at the Schoenbrunn Zoo in Vienna who was inseminated with frozen sperm from a wild African bull elephant. 10. Judge's ruling may set precedent for feral cat care
A Cook County, Ill., judge ruled last month that feral cats are wild animals and the care of their colonies comes under state authority. The potentially precedent-setting ruling came in the case of a couple cited under local rules for caring for a feral cat colony; the court upheld a county law that allows residents to care for feral cat colonies as long as the animals are properly vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
